Edgar Navarro
A native of Mexico City, Chef Edgar Navarro started his culinary career at the age of 16, as a cook at the Moma Restaurant in New York. He developed his skills at the Plaza Hotel and also working with Master Chef Bernard Le Prince. He holds professional culinary degrees from the Anahuac University in Mexico City, and from the Culinary Institute of America.

After working in the USA and Europe, Chef Navarro returned to his roots and developed a special taste for Mexican traditions, which he decided to bring to life in the form of a unique culinary experience.

Chef Navarro was a pillar to ensure the first Food & Wine Festival in Latin America was a success, and he also managed the very first Share Our Strength event out of the USA. Chef Rick Bayless, and Chef Stephan Pyles, known as the Father of Southwestern Cuisine, agree that Chef Edgar Navarro is the uprising star when it comes to Contemporary Mexican Cuisine.

Now as Executive Chef at Zi Restaurant, at Club Intrawest - Zihuatanejo, his guests can enjoy an array of culinary traditions in the form of unique dishes that only Chef Navarro has been able to assemble, from his delightful grasshoppers and agave warms tacos, to his delicious Lamb in pumpkin seeds pesto.
