Tasting Texas
Culinaria is excited to announce the return of the annual Tasting Texas Wine + Food Festival from October 26-29, 2023 in partnership with Visit San Antonio. This four-day epicurean experience allows food and wine lovers alike to explore the unique flavors of Texas for themselves. Guests can look forward to enjoying live music, educational panels, and sampling a variety of cocktails, wines and craft beers in one of San Antonio’s popular open-air venues.
Taste delicious bites from Texas chefs and restaurants, mingle with beverage makers and engage in interactive activities throughout all four days with something for everyone. From cooking classes teaching guests how to make tasty dishes with a southern twist to hands-on workshops on pairing — there's no shortage of exciting experiences to be had and the best part is that it’s a party with a purpose and the beneficiary is the James Beard Foundation with $250,000 committed to support culinary students in Texas.

A Culinary Festival with a Purpose
Realizing a shared vision with the James Beard Foundation to make good food for good™, and spotlight women and minority communities, a partnership between the Foundation, Visit San Antonio, and Culinaria was a natural progression. Proceeds from Tasting Texas will benefit the James Beard Foundation’s scholarship programs, which in turn, provide opportunities for minority culinary talent to develop their skills and experience. Further, by providing high-level exposure to chefs from Texas, the city of San Antonio, and others across the country, Tasting Texas aims to help the restaurant industry, locally and nationally, grow from the devastating financial effects of the pandemic.
