In an area known for hospitality and tourism, our corner of the world has been rocked by the devastating and tragic Independence Day floods in the Texas Hill Country. Maybe you know someone who has been directly impacted or was among those who did not survive. The information is overwhelming, and you can’t help but feel the loss that the community is suffering.

Countless volunteers, organizations and businesses have stepped up to help those in need. If you’ve already contributed in some way, thank you. If you’re looking for ways to support, we wanted to highlight a few of the businesses that we work with who are committed to helping their neighbors.

Elsewhere Garden Bar + Kitchen This River North eatery is collecting much-needed supplies like toiletries, first aid kits, and baby essentials until July 11. The supply drive will culminate in a blood drive with South Texas Blood & Tissue Center from 2-7 p.m. Friday, July 11. 103 E Jones Ave.

Milam & Greene Through July 15, this Hill Country distillery will donate 15% of all online and distillery sales — and 50% of each Unabridged bottle sale this Saturday, July 12 — will be donated to the Community Foundation of Texas Hill Country. Milam & Greene has also partnered with Spec’s to donate up to $20 per bottle to Texas Pets Alive for pet rescue relief. 208 Carlie Lane, Blanco, Texas.

Benjie’s Munch Both Benjie’s locations — the Hill Country Village brick and mortar as well as the food truck at downtown-area Hops & Hounds — will donate 10% of all of their sales to the Kerr County Relief Fund on Wednesday, July 9. 1218 W. Bitters Rd. Suite 107 + 1123 Avenue B.

The Desert Spoon Celebrated Executive Chef Tatu Herrera will host an intimate six-course relief dinner at Spring Branch eatery The Desert Spoon on Wednesday, July 23. Tickets for the dinner, which kicks off at 6 p.m., are $100 each and will feature courses from special guest chefs. 11355 US 281 N., Spring Branch, Texas.

Full Goods Diner This all-day Pearl eatery will donate 5% of all sales from Friday, July 11 to Sunday, July 13 to the Kerr County Relief Fund. Past that, the Fund will benefit from all dine in, takeout, and online orders, which will offer the option to round up each total through July 31. 200 E. Grayson St., Suite 120.

Yozora Japanese Kissa Restaurant From July 8-31, Yozora and sister eatery Shiro will turn two dishes into direct help for Kerrville neighbors. 100% of proceeds from Shiro’s new Hill Country Relief Roll will benefit the Kerr County Flood Relief Fund, while 100% of proceeds from Yozora’s Weekly Treat Special will go to the very same fund. Shiro Japanese Bistro: 107 W Jones Ave.; Yozora Japanese Kissa Restaurant: 22211 I-10 Access Rd., #1111.

Nothing Bundt Cakes San Antonio-area Nothing Bundt Cakes locations are accepting donations of supplies such as cleaning cloths and paper towels, bug spray and sunscreen, and hygiene kits through July 14. Folks who donate will receive 10% off any NBC order. Multiple locations.

Kendra Scott Austin-based Kendra Scott is supplementing an earlier donation to the Kerr County Flood Relief Fund by donating 100% of proceeds from its Everlyne bracelets as well. The Everlyne bracelet is currently sold out online, but you can visit any Kendra Scott location to purchase. Multiple locations.

H.E.B. It didn’t take long for Texas’ beloved grocery chain to mobilize, providing on-the-ground meals, volunteers, and supplies to Kerrville’s most heavily impacted areas. What’s more, the company on Wednesday announced an additional donation of $5 million being made for Texas flood recovery. Shoppers can help by taking advantage of the business’ check stand donation campaign, which allows customers to donate at checkout when shopping in-store and online. According to the company, all the money collected will be distributed to nonprofits supporting victims in impacted counties. Customers can also donate using the Favor App when ordering groceries. Multiple locations.

Bending Branch Winery The Fredericksburg wine haven is offering a Texas Trio for Flood Relief featuring a 2020 Texas Cabernet Sauvignon, 2020 Texas Tannat, and 2019 Texas Tempranillo. The trio is $75, and available online or in the tasting room through Monday, July 14. 100% of profits will go directly to the Comfort Volunteer Fire Department. 142 Lindner Branch Trail, Comfort, Texas.

We’re sending our heartfelt thanks to those locally, nationally and worldwide who are supporting relief efforts through time, talent and resources. And to our neighbors and those impacted through this, our words simply aren't enough in your loss.

In times like these, community matters most—Kerr County, we're with you.
