Aldaco's Mexican Restaurant // For more than 35 years, Aldaco’s has been serving up family recipes, lively atmosphere, and local tradition via founder, owner and operator Blanca Aldaco. Honey & Pickle // Honey & Pickle owner Mallory Jochen discovered a penchant for pandemic gardening and began pickling her wares, sharing her harvest with friends and family. Thus, Honey & Pickle was born, delivering custom-made charcuterie boards and grazing tables for events of all sizes since 2021. The Friendly Spot // The Friendly Spot Ice House is a popular outdoor venue in Southtown, featuring over 250+ beer varieties and 76+ beer taps. Los Barrios Mexican Cuisine // Los Barrios was started by Viola Barrios in 1979, showcasing traditional, home-style recipes passed down through generations. Ming's // Founded by Ming Qian von Bargen in 2011, Ming's began as an uber-popular farmers market stall specializing in authentic Chinese eats like steamed bao buns, noodles, and house-made sauces. Ming’s opened its flagship Midtown location in 2020 and later expanded to a second spot near La Cantera in 2024. The Magpie // South Korea native Chef Sue Kim, moved to San Antonio with her partner, Eugene Sanchez, in 2018 to open The Magpie, which features a globally-inspired menu. Kim brings her expertise learned at spots like Los Angeles' Michelin-star restaurant Mélisse, to serve up menu items like coffee-cured smoked duck, dak galbi, and specialty milk bread. ![]() Kindling Texas Kitchen // Known for wood-fired dishes inspired by Texas’ diverse culinary heritage, Kindling is operated by wife-and-husband owners, Lis and Jayme Mathis. Kindling’s long-awaited opening was helmed by chef and co-owner Gwyn Hammerson, who brought big-city culinary training and creative energy to the cozy Cibolo restaurant.
