As part of the launch of Culinaria’s new San Antonio Restaurant Weeks website, we’re expanding the way we explore the city—because great experiences don’t happen in a vacuum. These guides are your go-to for making the most of San Antonio in and out of the dining room. Scroll through, get inspired, and start planning your next bite, sip, or stroll.

While downtown San Antonio’s charm is undeniable, the city’s myriad romantic experiences also dwell beyond the River Walk. From cozy neighborhood bistros to serene parks and unexpected rooftops, there’s plenty of magic waiting outside the hustle and bustle—perfect for couples looking to escape the crowd and savor something special.

Start your evening at The Fairmont Hotel’s Rooftop Oyster Bar, replete with downtown views and uber-knowledgeable bar staff, then head toward Southtown for a quiet stroll along tree-lined streets. Head North into downtown, however, and give Hopscotch a try.The two-story interactive art experience is perfect for adventurous, creative couples, and offers a craft cocktail bar, to boot.

For sexy, mellow vibes, slink into The Green Lantern, where classic and contemporary cocktails in speakeasy-style digs isn’t just a vibe—it’s the vibe. Similarly atmospheric are the repurposed vintage fermentation tanks at Sternewirth, tucked inside Hotel Emma. Each cozy setup feels like your own private lounge.

Or skip the megaplex and head to a pop-up screening by Slab Cinema, which hosts outdoor movies in parks, plazas, and historic spots all over the city. Bring a blanket, grab snacks from local vendors, and enjoy everything from cult classics to indie gems under the stars. Speaking of stars… Lean into the romance of the cosmos with a Friday night show at the Scobee Education Center’s Planetarium on the San Antonio College campus. It’s dark, it’s quiet, it’s full of stars—basically, a rom-com moment waiting to happen.

No matter where you wander, San Antonio’s neighborhoods are filled with romantic spots that invite you to slow down, connect, and enjoy the city’s softer side.
